Our Team

Bolo Wang – President, Calgary Chapter

Bolo is a student at Simon Fraser High School. His hobbies include woodworking, coding, aircraft modelling, and making electrical circuits. He is also fluent in C coding language, Python, and Scratch and teaches programming at Caption John Palliser School. He has also won first place in a Xinjiang province model aircraft competition and volunteered at the North American Cup model aircraft competition in the US. Bolo is a person open to changes and suggestions and is always happy to help.

Selina Zhou- President of International Relations

Selina was a full French IB student at Western Canada High School. She has a passion for language learning in English (IELTS 9), French (C2), and Chinese and has had extensive experience in teaching both English  and French. At school, she serves as a member of the student union. She is very passionate and engaged with organization and involvement in initiatives and hopes to be able to help and support others through her work.

Elina Yuan – Chief Technology Officer, Calgary Chapter

Elina is a full IB student at Western Canada High School. Outside of school, she is a competitive dancer and volleyball team player with many regional awards and titles, including winning the Red Deer Junior Miss Candance 2022 title. In 2018, she was also given the “Outstanding Volunteer Contribution and Devoted Commitment” award by Ecssen Charity for her volunteer contributions to LinkCC. Elina is a self-motivated, technology-driven, hard-working individual who loves to help others. In her free time, she loves to read, play volleyball, play piano, bake, and play with her dogs.

Bingxuan Yang – Vice President of International Relations

Bingxuan Yang is a full-IB student at Sir Winston Churchill High School and is fully committed to driving her passions toward community dedication and youth involvement. Bingxuan is one of Alberta’s five senior national rhythmic gymnasts and continues to promote rhythmic gymnastics through various initiatives. She also had the honor of participating in the OYMI Music Festival Winners Concert as an awarded pianist. Bingxuan has expertise in dance at the national level and received multiple international scholarships at the IDO World Dance Competition. She is a principled inquirer who sustains a love for learning and is passionate about making a positive difference in the world.

Xueqi Yang – Vice President of Social Communications and Media

Xueqi is a full IB student at Sir Winston Churchill high school. She is a well-rounded and open-minded individual: Xueqi is not only a national dancer, but also one of Alberta’s five senior national group rhythmic gymnasts, who won second place during the 2022 Canadian Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics in the national senior group category. She is devoted to music and piano: she is a talented pianist, who has achieved many scholarships and titles in piano competitions: in the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, Canadian Music Competition, AMFA Provincial Festival, etc. Xueqi is an inquirer: she loves to question the “how” and “why” behind what sparks her curiosity. She is a passionate, proactive individual who loves supporting her community and initiating change that leads to positive development.

Vivian Zhou – Treasurer

Vivian is a grade 10 student attending Full French IB at Western Canada High School. At school, she is a part of the school band. She enjoys a variety of hobbies and also has experience teaching english. She’s excited to be able to provide fun and engaging opportunities for others.

Enny Zhang – Volunteer Coordinator

Enny is a detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills. Ability to handle
multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.

Enny’s hobbies include dance, singing, organization, and new ideas.

Shirley Yuan – Youth Advisor

Shirley is the youth advisor of LinkCC, where she is able to fuel her interest in serving her community. She has extensive experience hosting events for youth, whether it be through science camps, creative writing courses, social issues forums, and much more. At school, Shirley is a member of her school’s Science Club Executive and Band Leadership Executive. In her free time, Shirley loves making projects with her hands, reading, and playing with her dog.

Timothy Lu – Youth Advisor

Timothy is a Full IB student at Old Scona Academic. In addition to his work at Link CC, he is also a member of the City of Edmonton Youth Council. He also had the honour to be one of thirteen youth chosen to represent Canada as a Youth Ambassador, sponsored by the US Department of State. As well, he wins awards at the regional, provincial, and national level for his wide variety of interests from fencing, speech and debate, music, academics, and passion for youth empowerment through leadership.

Thomason Zhou

Thomason Zhou is a high school student who enjoys debating, travelling, kickboxing, and snowboarding. Thomason reaches out to build connections with existing and potential partners of Link CC.
